Zurich/Paris – Anapaya, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Switzerland and InterCloud facilitate SCION network access for sectors with critical infrastructure needs. These include financial services, life sciences and the public sector.
Zurich-based network provider Anapaya Systems AG has teamed up with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Switzerland and computer networking software developer InterCloud in Paris to develop a solution to facilitate SCION network access for sectors with critical infrastructure needs, such as financial services, life sciences and the public sector, according to a press release.
SCION (Scalability, Control, and Isolation On Next-Generation Networks) was developed at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH). The Internet architecture is designed for high availability, high security and efficient point-to-point network packet transmission. The Swiss National Bank (SNB) and the stock exchange operator SIX have announced that the SCION-based Secure Swiss Finance Network (SSFN) will replace the existing Finance IPNet by September 2024. Health Info Net AG (HIN), which connects over 50,000 Swiss healthcare organizations and doctors, has been using SCION since the beginning of 2023, according to the press release from Anapaya Systems AG.
Anapaya's launch of the Anapaya EDGE virtual appliance in the AWS Marketplace enables AWS users to access the SCION network. By working with AWS, Anapaya has also developed a reference architecture that guides customers and vendors in setting up SCION connectivity and provides an optimized solution for AWS customers, it adds.
By using the Anapaya solution, which is built on AWS, InterCloud now offers its AWS customers SCION connectivity via Anapaya EDGE, thereby increasing the flexibility and reliability of critical infrastructures, according to the press release. Anapaya is a spin-off of ETH. ce/gba
