Artificial Intelligence from SBAS Interprets Blood Tests

Zurich – The Zurich-based company Smart Blood Analytics Swiss is the first company with EU MDR certification to be allowed to distribute software that interprets blood test results using artificial intelligence. It is intended to enable faster and more precise clinical decisions.

Smart Blood Analytics Swiss has received an European Medical Device Regulation (EU MDR) certification for its SBAS software. This makes it the first medical device approved in Europe that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to interpret blood test results. According to a press release from the company, it is among the only ten AI medical device companies that can boast this prestigious certification. It guarantees that a medical device has been comprehensively tested for safety and quality and complies with EU regulations.

According to the information provided, the SBAS software not only improves the speed and accuracy of interpreting blood test results, but also provides medical staff with valuable insights into the patient's state of health. Founded in 2016, Smart Blood Analytics Swiss has set itself the task of improving differential diagnosis. It uses machine learning algorithms to provide different AI models for predicting the most likely diagnoses based solely on a person's blood test results.

"The EU MDR certification is proof of our commitment to innovation and patient well-being," CEO and founder Dr. Marko Notar is quoted as saying. It is "a recognition of our commitment to delivering the highest quality solutions to healthcare professionals and ultimately patients around the world." ce/mm
