Kloten ZH – Assaia has secured 26.6 million dollars in a Series B financing round. The company intends to use the fresh capital to scale its platform for airport ground management. The financing was led by Armira Growth.
(CONNECT) Assaia has secured fresh capital of 26.6 million dollars in a Series B financing round. According to a statement, the aviation technology company based in Kloten intends to use the fresh funds to expand its artificial intelligence (AI)-based airport apron management platform. The financing round was led by the European investment firm Armira Growth from Munich, with the participation of other investors, some of whom already exist.
Assaia's technology makes it possible to automate and optimize the handling of commercial aircraft, including apron management. The ApronAI platform can be used to organize gate assignments, parking positions, refueling and catering for commercial aircraft, for example. This allows handling times to be shortened and flight operations to be better planned. Part of the new money will go towards the introduction of a new AI-based planning module, StandManager.
"This investment marks a new phase of growth for Assaia as airports and airlines increasingly look to AI to find solutions to growing operational challenges," Christiaan Hen, CEO of Assaia, is quoted as saying in the press release. "With Armira's support, we are accelerating the adoption of new technologies and expanding our footprint to deliver measurable value in some of the world's most complex airport environments." Christian Figge, Managing Partner at Armira Growth, is convinced that the investment in Assaia's AI platform "supports airport operations and the aviation industry in overcoming complex challenges". ce/ww
