Schlieren ZH/The Hague/London – b-rayZ has developed an integrated artificial intelligence (AI) solution for mammography together with the Dutch company Affidea and Biotronics3D from London. This is intended to optimize the workflow of radiologists and improve breast cancer treatment.
(CONNECT) The Schlieren-based company b-rayZ, together with Biotronics3D from London and Affidea from The Hague, has developed a breast imaging solution integrated with artificial intelligence. According to a press release, the solution is designed to optimize the workflow of radiologists through real-time acquisition checks and integrated decision support. In this way, repeat examinations can be reduced and at the same time the quality and safety of breast cancer treatment can be improved. The companies are currently presenting the solution at the Radiology Society of North America (RSNA) conference in Chicago, which runs until December 4.
The partnership is based on Affidea's international and multi-vendor experience in the field of mammography and combines b-rayZ's AI for breast imaging with Biotronics3D's PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)/RIS (Radiology Information System) environment. This gives radiologists, clinics and hospitals a central workspace in which images, AI analyses and diagnostic reports are brought together.
"Radiology doesn't need any more isolated tools, it needs networked intelligence," explains Dr. Sören Grimm, CEO of Biotronics3D. "By integrating b-rayZ directly into our PACS/RIS, we make AI an integrated co-pilot. Radiologists stay in one environment and have the context, images and AI they need in one place."
The system provides a structured report including examination quality, patient density profile, automated detection and assessment of breast imaging findings, while the radiologist remains in control. The AI-supported workflow is now to be rolled out across Europe with the help of Affidea's network. ce/nta
