Cerrion receives 18 million dollars for video AI agents in factories

(CONNECT) Cerrion can continue to grow with an additional 18 million dollars. According to its press release, the Zurich-based company raised this sum in a Series A financing round. It was led by Creandum from Stockholm. The two San Francisco-based venture capital companies Y Combinator and Goat Capital as well as 10x Founders from Munich and session.vc based in Rapperswil-Jona SG have also invested. Unicorn founders and business angels are also among the new investors, such as Marc Maurer, the former CEO of On from Zurich, and Carl Rivera, Chief Design Officer of Shopify from Ottawa, Canada.

Cerrion builds AI agents that connect to standard cameras and monitor key areas of production around the clock. They immediately recognize process deviations, quality problems and potential safety risks. And they intervene in real time, for example by switching off machines, slowing down conveyor belts and triggering alarms.

This should solve problems up to 50 percent faster, halve downtimes and scrap and significantly improve safety. "With this funding, we will extend this impact to more factories and production teams, expand the capabilities of our agents and continue to grow our team," said Cerrion.

The combination of autonomous intervention and collaboration with humans is already being used by manufacturers of glass, wood, beverages, consumer goods, food and more, reportedly in 15 countries and on three continents.
