CircularBlades Project

CircularBlades develops innovative recycling solutions for disused wind turbine rotor blades. Wind energy is one of the main pillars of the energy transition – but at the end of their service life, thousands of tons of composite materials end up in landfills or are incinerated. CircularBlades closes this gap in the circular economy. Using a proprietary process, the glass fiber and carbon fiber composites are recovered from the sheets and transferred to new products as secondary raw materials. The company combines technological innovation with ecological responsibility and thus creates real added value along the entire wind energy value chain. CircularBlades is based in Switzerland and works with wind farm operators, waste management companies and material producers to establish a scalable and economically viable solution to one of the energy industry’s most pressing waste management problems.
