Climate Investment Invests in ANYbotics

(CONNECT) The internationally active investor Climate Investment (CI) has joined the investor group for ANYbotics based in Zurich. According to a press release, the company, which has sites in London and the US state of Texas and is committed to accelerating industrial decarbonization, intends to support the further development and deployment of the ANYmal X inspection robot.

ANYmal X is a walking robot developed by ANYbotics, a spin-off of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH). In future, it will be used for continuous inspections in potentially explosive atmospheres. With its sensor technology, it can detect faults and leaks. Companies already using ANYbotics technology include energy and industrial companies such as Aramco, BP, Equinor, ENI and Petrobras, which are also part of the Climate Investment network.

"ANYbotics' technology has the potential to significantly improve industrial inspection," Felicity O'Kelly, Investment Director at Climate Investment, is quoted as saying in the press release. "By introducing cutting-edge robotic technology to the industry, ANYbotics is helping operators meet emissions targets while improving operational resilience, particularly in the oil and gas sector where safety is paramount. This investment is in line with CI's mission to accelerate decarbonization in hard-to-reduce sectors." Péter Fankhauser, co-founder and CEO of ANYbotics, sees Climate Investment's involvement as an option to expand his company's network of industry partners and business activities. ce/ww
