Winterthur – The Technology Fund grants a loan guarantee to Cyltronic AG. With this, the start-up from Winterthur wants to push its electric cylinder for industrial plants. This enables energy savings of over 90 percent.
The Technology Fund has approved a loan guarantee for Cyltronic, according to a media release. The start-up based in Technopark Winterthur was able to convince with its innovative electric cylinder for industrial plants. This is intended to replace conventional pneumatic cylinders. Thanks to the electrification of the cylinders , which are otherwise operated with compressed air, energy savings of 92 percent on average are made possible, according to Cyltronic.
"The technology fund will enable us to accelerate market development across Europe and free even more machines from compressed air and make them more efficient," Jeremias Wehrli, CEO and co-founder of Cyltronic, is quoted as saying in the release. The start-up's goal, he said, is to market the product worldwide.
The market potential is great: According to Cyltronic, linear movements are carried out in every industrial machine, which are currently performed with pneumatic cylinders. In its press release, the start-up highlights areas of application for its technology, such as robots in the automotive industry and machines for packaging food.
