Daetwyler IT Infra teams up with Drone Harmony from Dübendorf ZH and the Chinese company DJI. The partners want to use drones in urban accidents. They will provide first aid kits as well as real-time images to rescue workers.
Uri-based Daetwyler IT Infra has entered into a partnership with Dübendorf-based Drone Harmony and Chinese drone manufacturer DJI, according to a statement. The goal is to enable faster and better response to accidents in cities thanks to drones.
Specifically, drones will fly directly to the scene of an accident and use high-resolution cameras to get a picture of the situation. This data is to be forwarded in real time to emergency services. At the same time, drones are to be equipped with first-aid kits and provide them quickly at the scene of an accident.
Daetwyler IT Infra brings its Outdoor Smart Modular Data Center to the partnership. These edge computing-based units will be installed at multiple locations throughout the city. They enable real-time data processing very close to where the data is generated. Thanks to these units, the data collected by the drones can be transmitted in real time to the emergency services. DJI is supporting the project with its drones, and Drone Harmony is bringing its expertise in drone control to the partnership.
«The future of smart cities is evolving before our eyes, and Daetwyler's partnership with DJI and Drone Harmony is a great example of how innovative technology can revolutionize incident management,» says Daetwyler IT Infra.
Daetwyler IT Infra will be exhibiting at the GITEX GLOBAL technology trade fair in Dubai from October 16 to 20.
