Dimpora and Middle Distance team up for weather jacket

Zurich – Dimpora and the fashion label Middle Distance have entered into a cooperation for outdoor textiles. The Zurich start-up’s technology for non-toxic textile membranes is used to produce the Fog Jacket Natural Haze weather jacket.

Dimpora and the fashion label Middle Distance have agreed on a cooperation, according to an announcement by Fashion for Good on Linkedin. Middle Distance will use the Zurich start-up's technology for non-toxic, PFAS-free textile membranes to produce outdoor and sports jackets such as the Fog Jacket Natural Haze. Dimpora has developed polyurethane-based textile membranes that are both waterproof and breathable, making them suitable for use in outdoor textiles. According to the press release, the fabric is backed with a nylon tricot fabric, which increases the stability of the textiles. However, the textiles are based on so-called Irish Linen, which is produced using traditional methods. Both companies want to use the initiative to harmonize innovative technologies and sustainability.

Dimpora was spun off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich in 2019. The company was founded by Anna Beltzung (CTO) and Mario Stucki (CEO). ce/ww
