Zurich/Frankfurt a.M. – Dimpora has won this year’s Innovation Challenge for sustainable solutions in the chemical and textile industry. The company received the 15,000 euro prize for its fluorine-free textile membrane.
The Zurich-based start-up dimpora has won the first prize of 15,000 euros in a competition for innovative and sustainable solutions in the chemical and textile industry. The jury of the International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre(ISC3) was convinced that the company had made an extraordinary and innovative contribution to sustainable chemistry in the textile industry, according to a statement on LinkedIn.
Dimpora has developed a PFAS-free, polyurethane-based textile membrane of the same name. Their manufacturing process is based on patented CoreLayer technology, which can be used to produce membranes from any polymer. The advantage of the process is that it creates a fluorine-free alternative for the production of outdoor textiles. With the solution it has created, the company offers the industry an answer to health challenges. ce/ww
