DiNAMIQS opens production plant

(CONNECT) DiNAMIQS AG has opened a 2500-meter cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) facility for viral vectors at its headquarters in the Bio-Technopark Schlieren-Zurich, as detailed in a press release. The plant enables the "complete production of viral vectors for cell and gene therapeutics, from molecule design to aseptic filling of the drug" and is unique of its kind in Switzerland, according to the company, which belongs to Siegfried AG from Zofingen.

The new facility complements the process development and quality control laboratories already commissioned in 2024 and strengthens Siegfried's position in the market for cell and gene therapies, according to the press release. "Since the acquisition of the start-up in 2023, Siegfried's goal has been to scale DiNAMIQS' capabilities and establish the company as a leading CDMO in the field of cell and gene therapies," Siegfried CEO Marcel Imwinkelried is quoted as saying with regard to the company's activities as a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO). "With the opening of the new production facility and increasing customer demand, we are well on the way to achieving this goal."

With the commissioning of the new facility, DiNAMIQS has also entered into a strategic partnership with SEAL Therapeutics from Basel for the development and production of a gene therapy for muscular dystrophy. ce/jh
