Emission Tracker from Intep facilitates CO2 balancing for SMEs

Zurich – Intep has launched an emissions tracker designed to make it easier for SMEs to get started with carbon accounting. The web-based tool provides comprehensive, scientifically sound results and offers SMEs practical tips for reducing their emissions.

(CONNECT) The Zurich-based company Integrale Planung GmbH(Intep) has launched a new emissions tracker designed to make it much easier for SMEs to get started with carbon footprinting, according to a press release. The web-based tool also presents the results visually and enables a multi-year comparison. This is intended to make progress clearly visible and measurable.

The Emission Tracker is based on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and covers all three scopes, including indirect emissions along the value chain. The emission factors are scientifically validated and are regularly updated. Activity and emissions data that Intep was able to collect during its project work also enables a simplified calculation methodology using industry averages.

The visualized results provide an overview of the most important sources of emissions, from energy supply to expenditure and investments. A PDF report can be used for communication purposes and also offers practical tips for reducing emissions. With the Emission Tracker Plus, companies can also receive an additional two hours of personal advice from Intep experts.

"SMEs in particular often lack the financial resources, the right tools and the necessary know-how," explains Dr. Lisa Winter, Managing Director at Intep Berlin. "With the Emission Tracker, we provide them with a low-threshold introduction to greenhouse gas balancing." Associations, municipalities or large companies can also benefit by acquiring licenses for their SME network as part of the Emission Tracker partnership. ce/nta
