Essento has been active since 2013 and was a pioneer in Switzerland, initiating the change in the law that led to the approval of edible insects as food in this country. Essento, a European pioneer in the production and marketing of specialties made from edible insects, has its headquarters in Zurich, where its products such as the climate-neutral Essento Insect Burger and Insect Balls, protein bars with insect powder and whole insects as salty and sweet snacks are also developed and sold.
