Dietikon ZH – Ex Libris has been nominated for the Sales Award 2023. Whether the media retailer wins the award for her campaign “Billboards become bookshelves” will be decided on March 21 at the Leipzig Book Fair.
Dietikon-based media retailer Ex Libris has been nominated for the Sales Award 2023 organized by BuchmarktFORUM, according to a press release. The award will go to Ex Libris' campaign last fall to convert billboards into bookshelves. In the process, 12,000 books were laid out to be given away.
This year's Sales Award jury met in Munich at the Bavarian regional association of the Börsenverein and voted on the applications submitted. Three applicants each from the product range and publishing sectors were nominated as candidates for the main prize. The winner will be announced on Thursday, March 21, at 12 noon at the Leipzig Book Fair.
The aim of the Sales Awards is to recognize outstanding sales strategies in the book industry that focus on their impact on readers and end customers rather than on quantifiable success in book sales. The prize is organized by BuchmarktFORUM and supported by the Leipzig Book Fair and the Hamburg bookseller Libri. BuchmarktFORUM is a cooperation between the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels, Landesverband Bayern, and the booksellers' cooperative eBuch e.G. in Heidelberg.
As part of the Ex Libris gives away books campaign, special poster stands were set up in 61 locations in German-speaking Switzerland in October and November 2023. Hanging from them were specially made bookshelves with the latest thrillers, novels, children's and non-fiction books to take away. The campaign, in which 12,000 books were given away, was accompanied online by an announcement campaign and clips that reminded people what books are actually for - reading, according to the Dietiker media retailer's press release. This is how Ex Libris awakens the joy of reading. ce/gba
