FLOWIT, Voliro and QUMEA win Swiss Economic Award

Interlaken BE – The winners of the Swiss Economic Award 2024 have been chosen: FLOWIT wins in the Service category, Voliro in the Deeptech/Life Sciences category and QUMEA in the Production/Commercial category. The jury made its decision at the Swiss Economic Forum in Interlaken.

FLOWIT AG, Voliro AG and QUMEA AG have won this year's Swiss Economic Award in their respective categories, according to a press release. With this award, the Swiss Economic Forum(SEF) and its partners Helbling, Swisscom and UBS promote entrepreneurial thinking and young business talent in Switzerland. In total, over 100 young companies from all over Switzerland applied. In each of the three categories, only three companies made it to the final in Interlaken following a multi-stage selection process.

FLOWIT won the service category. The digital platform for personnel development from the start-up from Opfikon ZH enables focused team development, establishes a feedback culture among all employees and is based on diversity and inclusion as a matter of course. Since September, FLOWIT has acquired over 50 customers with more than 30,000 employees. According to the information provided, they were able to reduce their fluctuation costs by up to 50 percent with the Software-as-a-Service solution.

Voliro won the Deeptech/Life Sciences category. With its inspection, maintenance and repair drones, the Zurich-based start-up has developed a robotics-as-a-service offering. According to the press release, it was able to conclude 31 annual subscriptions within just 14 months. According to SEF, Voliro has thus proven that its innovative technology is also in great demand.

The Solothurn-based digital health company QUMEA came out on top in the Production/Commercial category. Its palm-sized radar sensor detects the body movements of sick people throughout the patient's room. If, for example, a patient at risk of falling tries to get out of bed, the medical staff can intervene preventively and supportively. 90 facilities are already using this technology. ce/mm
