Winterthur/Emsbüren – Flux Mobility and the German special vehicle manufacturer WAS are cooperating in the field of e-mobility. The aim is to develop electric blue light vehicles for the European and non-European markets.
Flux Mobility joins forces with Wietmarscher Ambulanz- und Sonderfahrzeug GmbH(WAS) for more e-mobility in emergency services. According to a press release, the Winterthur-based manufacturer of electrically powered commercial vehicles has been adding an electric rescue vehicle to the WAS e-vehicle fleet since March. It was developed in Winterthur and equipped in Emsbüren, Germany, with an electrically powered special lightweight body from WAS. This makes it "emission-free in all aspects" and a step towards the common goal of using more electric vehicles in the emergency services.
According to the quoted Severin Ganz, Marketing & Sales Manager at Flux Mobility, blue light vehicles are considered the "supreme discipline in vehicle development". They have to be ready for use at all times under extreme conditions and are exposed to heavy loads with an annual mileage of between 30,000 and 60,000 kilometers. "We have found the ideal partner in WAS. The wide range of configurations and technical features of the Flux vehicles also form the perfect basis," says Ganz.
The vehicles require long ranges, as they are often deployed several times a day without being able to recharge in between. The range of the Flux vehicle is sufficient at 250 kilometers, according to Christoph Stegemann, responsible for market development at WAS. He also emphasizes the fast loading time. "The high acceleration values and a top speed of 120 kilometers per hour round off the powerful and reliable technology."
