Winterthur/Vienna Neudorf – Flux Mobility and Traktionssysteme Austria (TSA) have jointly developed a new electric motor for commercial vehicles. The powerful engine can significantly reduce the CO2 footprint of commercial vehicles.
Flux Mobility has developed a new powerful electric motor in collaboration with Traktionssysteme Austria(TSA). According to a press release from the Winterthur-based manufacturer of electrically powered commercial vehicles, the design of the motor was based on the many years of experience in rail vehicle construction of the Wiener Neudorf-based company. The permanent magnet electric motor from TSA has been designed so that it can also be used to drive light commercial vehicles. According to the press release, the TMPW 25A-26-8 electric motor from TSA ensures highly efficient vehicle operation with minimal power losses and an efficiency of 95 percent. The motor offers a peak torque of 1200 nanometers and a peak output of 220 kilowatts. According to the company, an electric vehicle can save seven times as much CO2 as a diesel vehicle of the same power.
"For Flux Mobility, we have developed a completely new motor concept for the electrification of light commercial vehicles," said Marius Kohnle, Head of the ROAD business unit at TSA, in the press release. "Another new feature is that the inverter is now part of the scope of delivery. From now on, TSA has a complete LD Powertrain product on offer. This drive solution offers a real alternative to existing systems and delivers improved performance. The great success of the project is largely due to the excellent teamwork and close cooperation with Flux Mobility." ce/ww
