Goldküste establishes regional location promotion

Küsnacht ZH – The municipalities of the district of Meilen have founded the Goldküste Location Promotion Association. In collaboration with the cantonal location promotion agency, the association aims to strengthen networking between business, politics and administration and make the region’s strengths visible.

(CONNECT) According to a press release, the Meilen district conference has founded a location promotion organization for the region. The primary aim of the Goldküste Location Promotion Association is to strengthen existing companies and their further development. The focus is on topics such as medical technology, training centers and company headquarters. To this end, the association is to work together with the cantonal location promotion agency and promote networking between the players in business, politics and administration.

The association is chaired by Marc Bohnenblust. "In the sense of a 'region of short distances', the distances between living, working, care, education and leisure are to be shortened," the Zumikon municipal council is quoted as saying in the press release. "This will strengthen the cohesion of the region, relieve pressure on the greater Zurich area and improve the quality of life of the population."

The founding board also includes Küsnacht mayor Markus Ernst, Herrliberg municipal clerk Tumasch Mischol, his colleague Reto Linder from Uetikon am See and Kai Machold from Mettler Entwickler. The office is managed by Sabine Vernik. She has also headed the Küsnacht Cultural Secretariat since 2019.

Companies in the region can become members of the association. The launch of the association is planned for November 2025 in Meilen. ce/ug
