HWZ and PHW Bern Become Partners

(CONNECT) The Zurich University of Applied Sciences (HWZ) has agreed a cooperation with the Private University of Applied Sciences PHW Bern. The collaboration is set to begin on October 1, 2025, according to a press release. From this date, the HWZ also certifies the CAS and Bachelor programs of the PHW.

The aim of the partnership is to exploit synergies in teaching and research. The aim is to improve the quality of education at both schools and increase students' future prospects. According to the press release, students at both universities will benefit from expanded study programs, interdisciplinary projects, joint events and the alumni networks of both institutions.

"This cooperation opens up new networking opportunities for us - not only between our institutions, but also with the economy and society. Our students and partners will benefit from this in equal measure," Brian Rüeger, Rector of the HWZ, is quoted as saying. Lukas Kmoch, Director of the PHW Bern, sees the merger as an opportunity to offer even more practice-oriented expertise. ce/ww
