Brüttisellen ZH – KONE is the winner of the German Sustainability Award 2024. The globally active manufacturer of elevator and escalator systems with its Swiss headquarters in Brüttisellen was named the most sustainable company in the lifting and conveying technology category.
The 224 jurors of this year's German Sustainability Award for Companies voted elevator and escalator manufacturer KONE to the top of the list of sustainable pioneers in this industry. The industrial company was already among the three finalists in the lifting and conveyor technology category last year. The company has its Swiss headquarters in Brüttisellen.
According to the jury's statement, KONE "came out on top in the final because the company has made particularly effective, exemplary contributions to transformation, thus setting an example and sending the right signals to its industry and beyond". The three finalists included Georg Fischer AG, another company based in Switzerland, together with SEW Eurodrive from the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The prizes will be awarded on 28. and November 29 in front of 1000 guests in Düsseldorf.
Winning the German Sustainability Award "is an impressive confirmation of our sustainability leadership in the elevator and escalator industry," said the Managing Director of KONE DACH, Alexander Vitt, in a statement from his company. "Consistently reducing carbon dioxide emissions in all areas will continue to be of the utmost importance for us and our planet in the coming years." KONE aims to become climate-neutral by 2030.
