LOKD helps to control digital distractions, excessive smartphone use and social media habits more consciously. To achieve this, LOKD combines physical hardware with software and creates a tangible barrier between the user and the smartphone.

In contrast to conventional app blockers or screen time limits, which can often be bypassed with just a few clicks, LOKD works via a physical device such as the LOKD Key or the LOKD Keycard. This device must be scanned to activate or deactivate the app blocking mode. This makes unlocking distracting apps a conscious action rather than an automatic reflex.

LOKD was developed in Switzerland and is aimed at people who want to work, learn or organize their leisure time in a more focused way without having to completely do without their smartphone. The LOKD Key is also manufactured, prepared and dispatched in Switzerland – from in-house housing production to the programming of the keys.

LOKD also offers solutions for companies, schools and universities. These include branded LOKD keys and keycards as well as suitable concepts for working, learning and educational environments. In this way, focused working and learning can also be supported at an organizational level – for example, for concentrated work phases in the company, distraction-free learning times or digital feel-good programs in educational institutions.
