Dietlikon ZH/Zurich – In cooperation with Kardex, LUZI AG has automated the storage of its fragrance and perfume samples. The decisive factor for the introduction at the Swiss headquarters was LUZI’s positive experience with this system at the production site in Malaysia.
LUZI AG, a family-owned company in the fragrance and perfume industry from Dietlikon, is expanding its cooperation with Kardex. Kardex is a provider of automated storage solutions and internal transport systems and is headquartered in Zurich.
Back in 2015, the two international companies launched a partnership at a LUZI AG production site in Malaysia to overcome the challenges of capacity and lack of space. The success of this collaboration has led to LUZI AG deciding to continue working with Kardex, Kati Rulc is quoted in a press release. She is Head of Global Quality Control and an expert in regulatory affairs at LUZI AG. The system introduced at LUZI AG consists of two Kardex vertical lift modules and the Kardex Power Pick System software solution. The introduction of Kardex technology has supported LUZI in several key business objectives, such as energy and resource efficiency.
According to the press release, the automation of the storage and retrieval processes for samples has led to considerable time savings. In addition, flexibility at the workplace has been increased, which enables controlled monitoring of the batches produced and their raw materials. One major advantage is the space-saving storage solution, which has enabled LUZI to increase the capacity of its warehouse from 35,000 to around 156,000 samples. This enabled the company to extend the sample storage target from 18 to 30 months. According to LUZI, this represents a "significant milestone" in the company's history. ce/js
