Schlieren ZH – The start-up Mapin has launched an app that depicts social events in the physical world on a digital map. Users can use the platform to find out what is happening at a specific location in real time. They can also share content about their location themselves.
The Schlieren start-up Mapin has launched a new app for social interactions. Users can share real-time information about social events at their current location in the form of images. At the same time, they can see what information other users are sharing. This creates an interactive map on which information on social events at various locations is displayed in real time.
According to a statement from Mapin, the app does not allow filters on the images. The aim is to show an "unfiltered image of reality" . To ensure that the content is up to date, the images shared by users disappear again after twelve hours. Since its launch on January 11, Mapin has reportedly already recorded an "active user base".
The app is currently still in the test phase and will be continuously developed further. Mapin wants to finance itself through advertising and later also with a paid version for corporate customers and influencers. But before that, a critical mass of users needs to be reached. The start-up is also planning a financing round in the next six months. So far, it has been self-financing. ce/ssp
