Zurich – mimic robotics AG has raised 16 million dollars in a seed financing round. The Zurich-based start-up intends to use the fresh capital to improve the technology of its humanoid robot hands supported by artificial intelligence and significantly expand its market position.

(CONNECT) The Zurich-based start-up mimic robotics has been able to acquire 16 million dollars in a seed financing round. According to a press release, the financing round is being led by Elaia and Speedinvest. Founderful, 1st Kind, 10x Founders, 2100 Ventures and Sequoia Scout Fund are also involved.

The company, a spin-off of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) founded in 2024, specializes in the development of robots supported by artificial intelligence (AI). These are modeled on human arms and hands. They are designed to simulate manual work processes and could therefore be used for repetitive tasks. "Our approach combines AI-driven, dexterous robotic hands with proven, off-the-shelf robotic arms to provide the same capabilities in a way that is much easier, more reliable and faster to deploy," Stephan-Daniel Gravert, co-founder and CPO at mimic robotics, is quoted as saying in the press release.

The company intends to use the fresh capital to further improve the technology, particularly the learning process of the robots, and thus increase their use in production and logistics. The aim is to expand the company's market position as its success grows. According to analysts, the market for humanoid and sensitive robotics is set to grow to 38 billion dollars by 2035, as can be seen from the press release. ce/ww
