Dietikon ZH/Munich – Optotune from Dietikon has joined the MVTec partner program. As part of this partnership, the Munich-based software company for industrial image processing is integrating Optotune’s liquid lenses into its two software packages Halcon and Merlic.
(CONNECT) Optotune has entered into a technological partnership with MVTec. The Dietikon-based company has officially joined the MVTec Technology Partner Program. Optotune describes this as "an important step in our plan to drive optical innovation through the vertical integration of our liquid lenses".
MVTec, based in Munich, produces standard software for industrial image processing, for example for the electrical and semiconductor industries, battery production, agriculture, the food industry and logistics. They enable applications such as surface inspection, optical quality control, robot guidance, identification, measurement and classification. "Through this collaboration, MVTec's powerful image processing software is complemented by Optotune's state-of-the-art focusable lenses and electrical lens modules," explains the Bavarian company.
As part of this cooperation, MVTec is integrating Optotune's liquid lenses and electrical lens modules into its Halcon and Merlic software. As a result, says Optotune, Halcon's advanced OCR barcode and data code recognition, deep counting, 3D matching and defect detection can now utilize the ultra-fast autofocus of Optotune's liquid lenses. Furthermore, their integration should offer system integrators and end users greater flexibility in automation, robotics, quality inspection, microscopy and 3D imaging. In addition, a closely integrated ecosystem should enable accelerated innovation.
"At Optotune, we believe in pushing the boundaries of imaging technology," the press release states. "The partnership with MVTec brings us closer to delivering next-generation capabilities that redefine precision, speed and adaptability in machine vision." ce/mm
