Oncobit and ID Solutions work on faster cancer tests

(CONNECT) Oncobit AG, a precision oncology spin-off from the University of Zurich, is teaming up with Montpellier-based ID Solutions, according to a press release. ID Solutions offers digital PCR-based oncology diagnostics. Oncobit contributes its monitoring assays and analysis software to the collaboration. Together, they want to develop faster cancer tests that comply with European regulations for clinical diagnostics (In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation/IVDR).

Specifically, this new generation of cancer tests should be able to identify biomarkers that are crucial for targeted cancer therapy within 24 hours. This would allow doctors to make a decision about the right treatment very quickly. The monitoring of the treatment should also lead to a timely and precise adjustment of the treatment by quantifying the biomarkers in the blood caused by the tumor.

Both companies want to take a significant step in the fight against cancer with their collaboration.
