Planted Foods Ltd.

Planted combines proprietary texturing and fermentation technologies to produce meat from plant-based proteins, focusing on delicious flavor, meaty and juicy texture, using only natural ingredients. Planted designs and structures its meat in every size, shape and fibrous texture and believes it will surpass animal meat in the future in terms of taste, sustainability, health, efficiency and price. Planted is committed to using only natural ingredients and no additives in all of its products, setting an entirely new standard in the plant-based meat category, making it a healthy and sustainable choice for all. Truly better than meat from animals.

A growing population as well as increasing life expectancy and higher income are the main reasons for the increase in global demand for meat. However, the current scale of the animal meat industry is more than unsustainable. Planted wants to change that. The Zurich-based food tech spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) was founded in 2019 and quickly built intellectual property around its technological approach, for which it currently holds several patents.

Planted produces its meat in a glasshouse production facility in Kemptthal, Zurich, Switzerland – the first transparent meat production facility open to the public.

Planted meat is available in over 3,000 restaurants and more than 3,800 retail outlets in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, the UK and BeNeLux, as well as through its own pan-European web store. Planted meat ranges, each consisting of different protein sources (peas, oats, sunflower), currently include planted.chicken, planted.pulled, planted.kebab, planted.schnitzel and planted.bratwurst. In addition, there are various limited editions in close collaboration with celebrity chefs such as Tim Raue, Nenad Mlinarevic or Sebastian Copien. But rest assured that the science-driven team is hungry for change and working hard at the Planted factory and science labs in Switzerland to revolutionize the food chain.
