Pretty Clever Go-to-Market Strategy

Zurich-based aviation SaaS start-up capzlog.aero turns the tables and forces paper riders to act

Pretty clever: capzlog.aero turns the tables with a new go-to-market strategy

Zurich, September 2025 - The Zurich-based startup capzlog.aero has established itself as a digital logbook solution for pilots in Switzerland and is currently in the process of expanding this success to the European market. More than 2,000 paying users already manage their flight logbook on the EASA AMC1 FCL.050-certified platform. The product is very popular, market-proven, technologically up to date and ready for international scaling.

But the pure B2C approach has its pitfalls: only a few operators and airlines have so far felt obliged to cover the costs of their crews' logbooks - paper or digital - and have shifted the responsibility onto the pilots.

With a clever go-to-market strategy, capzlog.aero is now turning the tables and forcing the industry's paper riders to act.

Funding round opens up new perspectives: from digital flight logbook to recruiting platform

At the heart of the growth strategy is an intelligent job matcher that uses the existing pilot data, which is maintained in real time, to bring qualified candidates together with flight schools, airlines and operators in a targeted manner.

In contrast to traditional job platforms, of which there are many, capzlog.aero is based on a verified, always up-to-date and regulatory relevant database: licenses, certificates, certificates and flight hours, broken down by aircraft type, function and region.

For example, business and cargo operators can find specialized specialists in a targeted manner, while large airlines can make the recruitment process more efficient, for example by pre-screening qualified profiles even before a position is publicly advertised. This saves costs in areas such as head hunting, screening, onboarding and insurance.

Innovative go-to-market strategy

Operators who join capzlog.aero benefit twice over:

  1. Access to B2B tools such as the Job Matcher to complement their HR systems, insurance and experience reporting and duty time dashboards.
  2. Guarantee that the company's own flight personnel cannot be poached via the platform.

This creates real market pressure on hesitant operators: those who do not participate run the risk of losing valuable personnel to digitally integrated competitors. At the same time, there is an incentive to give pilots access to the platform (B2C) and to join as an operator (B2B).

The capzlog.aero revenue team is of course ready to help operators who want to protect their expensively trained staff and cut costs at the same time.

Technology & partnerships for the European rollout

The platform is cloud-based, multilingual and technologically ready for international scaling. The entire architecture has just been brought up to date with the technologies of .NET MAUI and .NET 8.

Thanks to active API integrations with systems such as Leon Software, ProAvia and soon also Lufthansa Systems, FL3XX and Skylegs, capzlog.aero is becoming a digital hub for pilot data. In combination with the highly automated digitization of paper flight logbooks using large language models, the platform offers a real paradise for digitally savvy pilots and companies.

Ongoing cooperation projects with aviation authorities such as FOCA, LBA or EASA as well as with well-known airlines such as Swiss International Air Lines, Edelweiss, Rega and numerous other operators in Europe underline the increasing relevance of capzlog.aero in the international aviation industry.
