Schlieren ZH/Zurich – The Schlieren-based start-up promoter Venture Kick is supporting RTDT Laboraties with 150,000 Swiss francs. The spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich has developed a sensor system for analyzing wind turbines.
RTDT Laboratories AG receives a grant of 150,000 Swiss francs from Venture Kick. The spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich(ETH) aims to contribute to the "development of more intelligent and autonomous wind turbines", explained the Schlieren-based start-up sponsor in a press release. The Zurich start-up, founded in 2022, has developed the Aerosense sensor system for this purpose.
Aerosense collects aerodynamic, acoustic and structural data on the condition and performance of wind turbines. From the analysis of the data, RTDT Laboratories derives recommendations for better control and maintenance as well as for changes in the design of the wind turbines. The start-up is already working with companies such as Siemens Gamesa, Suzlon, Enercon and Eologix-Ping.
The new funds provided by Venture Kick will be used to expand the team, improve the hardware design and production process and expand the patent portfolio. The three-stage funding program has contributed to the improvement of RTDT Laboratories' business model, strategy and value proposition, explains Aris Mukherjee in the press release. "The kicker camps in particular were very helpful in identifying and addressing our weaknesses," says the RTDT Laboratories CCO. "We are very pleased to have won the third stage and to receive further support from Venture Kick." ce/hs
