Swiss Paraplegic Center uses cushions from RELiYOO

(CONNECT) The LiVE One relief cushion from RELiYOO is now also benefiting wheelchair users at the Swiss Paraplegic Center. As the start-up from Technopark Winterthur reports, its CEO and co-founder Uwe Schonhardt trained the team in Nottwil. In a statement, he thanked the participants "for the good questions and their trust in our innovative solution".

RELiYOO, a medical technology company founded in September 2023, has developed a battery-operated, silent and completely cord-free smart cushion that protects people with limited mobility from bedsores, also known as pressure sores. It is designed to offer dynamic pressure adjustment, automatic pressure relief and comprehensive safety monitoring.

To achieve this, the seat surface is divided into eleven anatomically shaped air zones which, in combination with a software algorithm, guarantee "previously unattained" automated, active pressure relief and optimum pressure distribution. At the same time, the sitting position can be individually corrected. Control buttons on the sides of the cushion allow you to quickly check the status or adjust the settings via an app.

"The leap in innovation compared to conventional solutions is considerable," was the verdict of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences on the intelligent cushion. She supported RELiYOO with a marketing project last year.

RELiYOO took second place in the Swiss Innovation Challenge 2024. Since summer 2024, the young company has also been supported by Technopark Winterthur's ASCENT Startup Accelerator program. This program offers targeted support for the scaling and further development of the start-up. ce/mm
