Thalwil ZH – U-blox has launched a Bluetooth module for cars. It allows passengers to connect devices such as headsets, controllers or tablets several times at the same time without interference. Its global certifications make the module easy to integrate.
(CONNECT) U-blox has presented JODY-B1. The Bluetooth dual-mode module is designed to provide personalized entertainment and games in vehicles. According to a press release from the Thalwil-based company, it supports several simultaneous and independent Bluetooth dual-mode connections. This allows all passengers to connect their personal devices such as headsets, controllers or tablets and use them without interference.
Based on the Snapdragon car connectivity platform from Californian semiconductor manufacturer Qualcomm Technologies and its QCA6595AU chipset for cars, JODY-B1 combines LE audio support, an operating temperature of up to 105 degrees Celsius and a compact form factor. Its host-based UART interface and global certifications are designed to make it easy for suppliers and OEMs to deploy multiple Bluetooth instances with ease. Technical samples and evaluation kits of JODY-B1 are available now, according to u-blox.
"By combining our platform with u-blox' JODYB1 module, automakers can support multiple simultaneous Bluetooth connections for each passenger with less integration complexity, delivering advanced personalized in-car experiences while reducing time to market," Riccardo Calabro, Qualcomm Germany's sales director, is quoted as saying in the release. ce/mm
