Venture Leaders Fintech gather valuable contacts in London

Schlieren ZH/London – The roadshow organized by Venturelab from Schlieren for selected start-ups from the fintech sector has come to an end. They were able to present themselves to numerous potential investors and gather valuable impressions.

(CONNECT) The ten fintech start-ups selected by Venturelab have completed their five-day stay in London, according to a press release from the Schlieren-based start-up promoter. "The week offered valuable insights into international venture capital companies and provided opportunities to make excellent contacts with venture capital companies, but also with fantastic founders. My expectations were more than fulfilled", Anina Luisa Lutz, co-founder and CEO of Calingo Insurance from Niederweningen ZH, is quoted as saying.

The ten start-ups were able to present their business model to a number of venture capital firms and institutional investors, including Anthemis, Augmentum, Balderton Capital, Galaxy Digital, Motive Partners, Ontario Teachers' Venture Growth (TVG) and Tencent. They also benefited from the immediate reactions of their conversation partners. In addition, there were numerous meetings with industry members, allowing participants to expand their networks. A reception hosted by the Swiss Embassy also served this purpose.

In addition to Calingo Insurance, which offers digital, integrated pet insurance, nine other start-ups were part of the tour: Allasso SA from Geneva is innovating options trading with real-time insights, backtesting and detailed data. Zurich-based Selma Finance is simplifying asset management with its personalized investment and retirement provision supported by artificial intelligence (AI). The Vaud-based start-ups Insurteam (Lausanne) and Poncho Insurance (Morges) are active in the insurance industry: Poncho Insurance offers integrated weather insurance using an API, while Insurteam uses AI to speed up recurring tasks for insurance claims.

MachinaLabs from Basel automates complex workflows with AI, while Calvin Risk from Kloten ZH offers modular AI risk management software. TransferChain from Baar ZG and Recoveris from Zug are researching blockchain solutions for blockchain-based access control (TransferChain) and the tracking of digital assets. Zurich-based rezonanz, on the other hand, uses NLP (Natural Language Processing) and machine learning to convert proxy voting and engagement data into actionable insights. ce/jh
