Winners of the Swiss Technology Award have been announced

(CONNECT) The Swiss Technology Award has been presented for the 38th time. Winners in three different categories have been nominated for one of "Switzerland's most important innovation awards", as the organizers put it in a press release. The newly launched Swiss Technology Award Night was held on November 26 as part of the Open-i conference at the Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich.

Chiral Nano AG came out on top in the Inventors category. This is aimed at companies that have achieved a breakthrough in research or development and are now in the process of demonstrating its functionality. Chiral, a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH), has developed a robotic arm that can incorporate nanomaterials "precisely and quickly" into electronic components.

The Start-ups/Rising Stars category recognizes young companies that have already "taken concrete action" to implement their business idea. This year, this applies to Navignostics AG, which is active in precision oncology. It can use single-cell proteomics technology to analyze tumor and immune cells in tissue. This enables personalized treatment decisions to be made.

SWD AG came out on top in the Industry Innovation category, which is reserved for established companies. SWD is active in the field of electrical sheet packages. These are central components for optimizing the magnetic flux in electric motors.
