The ZHAW School of Engineering has decided to join the Lean & Green Initiative in order to make an important contribution to CO2 reduction in transport and logistics as a partner.
The ZHAW School of Engineering is intensively engaged in the topic of «sustainable logistics» and conducts research in this area. It is involved in various projects in collaboration with Innosuisse and other funding institutions. Furthermore, the ZHAW Department of Engineering has extensive expertise that provides the Lean & Green community with access to scientific knowledge. In this way, the ZHAW School of Engineering is helping to achieve its ambitious goals in terms of environmental protection and emissions reduction.
From the perspective of the ZHAW School of Engineering, the partnership with Lean & Green offers a unique opportunity to enter into an intensive exchange of knowledge. «The combination of knowledge from practice and research guarantees the development of scientifically sound and actually applicable solutions,» explains Prof. Dr. Maike Scherrer, head of the Sustainable Supply Chain Management and Mobility research focus area at the ZHAW.
Jan Eberle, program manager at Lean & Green, emphasizes the importance of the collaboration: «The cooperation between Lean & Green and the ZHAW School of Engineering gives our community a strong scientific partner that contributes important insights, for example in the development of charging infrastructures and other aspects of sustainable logistics.»
