Zürcher Kantonalbank supports six new start-ups

(CONNECT) Six start-ups have impressed the jury of Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB) with their sustainable visions and business ideas to such an extent that they have been included in the bank's development program. According to their announcement, they were chosen ahead of four other finalists.

These six young companies can now develop their business ideas rent-free for a year in the Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich in Dübendorf. They also benefit from free coaching, a supportive network and access to specialist events.

"Zürcher Kantonalbank plays a leading role in the promotion of Swiss start-ups," said Dr. Müller-Ganz, Chairman of the Bank Council. "With our commitment, we not only want to support innovative business ideas, but also make a sustainable contribution to economic and social development in Zurich and beyond."

The six newly funded start-ups are calmea, Impact.build, Kolbev, Stellar Alpina, YURO and Xelerit/Forgis. Calmea develops a rocking bed with sensors for sleep measurement and optimal sleep. Impact.build's patented and robot-assisted printing method makes it possible to produce sustainable components quickly and cost-effectively from ordinary excavated material. Kolbevo's B2B solution replaces expensive, fixed charging infrastructure for electric cars in large parking lots with autonomous mobile robots with energy storage systems.

Stellar Alpina is developing innovative Rotating Detonation Rocket Engines. With these drives, in-space propulsion, landers and tugs should function much more efficiently. With its computer vision and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, YURO helps assistance robots to understand their environment more quickly and safely. These are to be used primarily in the healthcare and elderly care sectors. Xelerit wants to revolutionise industrial automation systems with its AI-supported software platform: with up to 70 percent less programming time, 80 percent lower integration costs and error detection of 90 percent before commissioning. ce/mm
