Zurich Start-Up Holsain Is Aeon’s First Acquisition

Winterthur/Zurich – Aeon has acquired Holsain, a start-up that was previously still operating quietly. Its founder, Dr. Florian Huber, becomes medical director of the Winterthur-based company Aeon. With this acquisition, the company is expanding the scientific basis for its full-body check-ups.

(CONNECT) Aeon has made its first acquisition and taken over Holsain. With the integration of Holsain and the appointment of its founder Dr. Florian Huber as the new Chief Medical Officer, "we are further expanding our scientific base and underlining our commitment to the highest medical quality," Aeon explained in a press release.

Founded in 2023, the Winterthur-based company has developed a platform for preventive medicine. For its full-body check-ups, Aeon Life combines magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), genetic analysis and blood tests with artificial intelligence (AI). AI is used to detect anomalies on MRI images and to cross-validate the MRI, blood and gene data. The AI also creates a personalized risk profile for every full-body check-up. To improve this platform, Aeon completed a seed financing round of 7.5 million Swiss francs just four months ago.

Holsain focuses on easily accessible screening and holistic health risk and fitness assessments based on MRI body composition analysis. "Holsain was founded on the conviction that the composition of our bodies provides valuable clues long before diseases begin," Huber is quoted as saying. "Joining Aeon creates the opportunity to integrate this knowledge directly into healthcare and make it accessible to many people." Together, says Aeon founder and CEO Tim Seithe, "we can identify risks earlier, further develop our MRI protocols and use AI exactly where it makes the biggest difference - with patients". ce/mm
