With the SynaEdge platform for edge computing, we are developing a solution that enables fast and decentralized data processing to cope with the increasing volume of data. This is realized with the deployment of micro-datacenters in multi-family buildings, commercial buildings, public buildings or in industrial areas. The micro-datacenters are deployed and managed via the SynaEdge platform, making it possible for any company to compute at the edge of the Internet without its own infrastructure. The waste heat from the Micro Datacenters is reused for the Micro Datacenter site buildings.

A new wind turbine
Agile Wind Power is developing the world’s first vertical-axis wind turbine that is economically attractive for distributed generation of renewable electricity. Due to the advantages of this vertical axis wind turbine, areas and markets can be served that cannot be realized with conventional wind turbines due to lack of acceptance. The first products, A32 and A45 (rated power of 750 kilowatts and 1.5 megawatts, respectively), are ideally positioned for distributed power generation where lower environmental impact is of high relevance (residential areas). The technology can also be used in even larger wind turbines.

Digitization has technical (“Can we do that?”) and economic (“Do we want that?”), but also ethical (“Should we?”) and legal (“May we?”) aspects. Of course, this also applies to innovations in the financial sector. Economists, technicians and lawyers are therefore needed to assess these. These must talk to each other, but above all understand each other and think together.
